Bella Garden Block of the Month – Bella, Bella!

Bella Garden Block of the Month From the Bella Garden Series by McKenna Ryan for Pine Needles.

Each month for 6 months you will receive a pattern and Hoffman batik fabric kit to complete one section of the Bella Garden Quilt.

Finished size 69″ x 76″.

Click on the photo for more information.

The sections of the quilt are available as separate kits instead of the Block of the Month.

Each Kit includes the fabrics, borders, and binding.

Click on the individual pictures to see details of that particular kit.

It is really neat to be able to pick a section and have a meaningful small quilt.

I love Wisteria.  I love the shape, the color, the fragrance, and how it takes over the universe where it grows.

My mother would say, “How wisterious” when it started to bloom.

I’ve always wanted to name a fat quarter pack for her but thought the wisterious would be thought a typo!

A Vine Buzz would be a perfect reminder and would give me or any of my family a smile.

All of the quilts are available as patterns as well as kits.

Give Away is almost here!

Want them all?  Sign up for our Wall hanging of the Month starting in April and get one kit a month for four months.  Sign up here.

Make a comment on this blog to be entered in the pattern give away.

Your responses have been so much fun.  So here’s a new question:

What is the most unusual flower in your garden?

Mine would have to be the Seven Sons tree.

It blooms in late August into September and has a delightful fragrance.

The pink flowers become fuchsia and a berry forms at the center that is a shiny purple.

Very interesting.

Batiks Etcetera’s Blog Today’s Question:  Gardens have color themes.

What is your favorite?  Real or Imaginary?

I like when my garden is a riot of purple and yellow.

It hits that combination in the Spring with Iris and late Daffodils.

Then in summer with Russian Sage, yarrow, and black eyed Susan.

In the fall the asters, butterfly verbena, and mums supply the color combo.

Enter a comment at the four other participating shops.

We are all different and offer great products.

Check out everybody.

Blog Giveaway: Girls in the Garden

Post a comment on our blog to be entered to win a Girls in the Garden pattern by Pat Sloan, the designer!

Pat Sloan, Traci Marvel, and Bigfork Bay Cotton Company have included us in this great giveaway.

We will draw four lucky winners Saturday morning from the comments received this week on our blog.

Answer the question:  Which pattern looks the most like your garden?  Real or Imaginary?

Girls in the Garden are four seasonal quilts with Pat Sloan’s lighthearted and fun style.

We will kit these quilts also.  The kits will be available shortly but you can put in your order now on our website.

Patterns are available now.

Store Front Door

Our spring garden includes this view of our front door to the shop. Our building was built in the 1840's so I have included mostly heirloom type flowers where possible. These daffodils are called Ice Follies. They aren't heirloom but they are sturdy for our unpredictable springs.

What is Spring without Iris? These are heirloom iris. We don't know what they are. They were collected from an old homestead site and we just call they Old Yellow. They are very sturdy, not fussy, iron clad! I love how this group piled up. I think Pat Sloan would definitely approve!

Summer brings lots of hummingbirds, bees and butterflies to our garden so we have planted this old fashioned Bee Balm. I love the ragged nature of these flowers. The light green leaves are kissed with red. Summer must include red, fuchsia, purple and yellow in my gardens.

Venus Mums

Fall brings lots of mums to our shop gardens. My favorite mum is the white with a blush of pink Venus. It is ancient and smells slightly of baby powder. We have several heirloom hardy mums and it so nice to have such exuberant blooms to bring the garden flowers to the end of the season.
